Day 5 & 6

Hi followers! 

I'm sorry I didn't post a blog yesterday. Yesterday was quite a busy day. But I will definitely tell you about it later in this blog. At the moment it is snowing in Colorado. Colorado weather is quite weird. One time it is 26 degrees and 3 days later it's snowing. Today we are going to watch Giseles dance performance in Denver, unfortunately Gabby's soccer game is cancelled. But first I will tell you about Thursday and Friday.

Thursday 

After breakfast Chelsea picked me up at 9:00 AM to have a day of internship at the Fairacres again. When I arrived there was community meeting going on. I joined them, but the elderly were very tired, most of them were sleeping in their wheel chairs. After community meeting there was American History class planned. Normally it is only about America but today the subject was ask Loes questions about the Netherlands. The elderly had a lot of good questions and were wondering if we had a Burger King in the Netherlands. 

After the "ask Loes questions"-hour I visited some residents together with Leila. She is an volunteer and already is 77 years old herself. She literally knows everyone at Fairacres. The residents really liked it and talked with me a lot. When it was lunch time I didn't have lunch at the Fairacres because Chelsea took me to Wendy's to eat her favorite bacon-cheeseburger. It was delicious, thank you Chelsea!

When we got back at the elderly home I visited Edith. Edith originally was from Austria and wanted to talk German to me. German is not my best language, but I tried to understand her and together with the pictures she showed it wasn't even that hard. 

1:30 PM, it was time for some manicures. I helped painting the residents nails and while doing that I talked even more German wit Edith and Iva did have some more questions for me. The residents were very happy with the result. Then it was computer fun time! The residents wanted to play a kind of hangman combined with the wheel of fortune. They were shouting letters and I had to control the computer. They were very trained in this game and won a lot of virtual money. At 3:30 Chelsea picked me up to go home again. 

I went with Gisele to dance, phoned my dad and did some more games of Huisje Boompje Beestje, Halli Galli and Pictionaire with the girls. Ooh we watched a Disney movie as well. 

Friday

Friday morning morning I woke up at 6;45. So I think the jetlag is almost gone. I went to preschool together with Jackson to help there for a few hours. In the beginning of the day they have some circle time in which the children (aged 3/4) discuss the weather and choose a Preschool helper. During this time the children had to sit down on the ground and I sat down with them. Within 10 seconds I already had 2 girls sitting on my lap. They asked me my name and did have some difficulties pronouncing my name. But Jackson taught them you had to say it like Jluicccce. I played with them and taught them to count to ten in Dutch and the song "klappen in de handjes". After that Mr Martie came to visit the class. He is an entertainer who made the children laugh and sing some songs together with them.

10:00, Dale picked me up and brought me to Tozer school again. This time I visited Giseles class. They first had a spelling test and after that they had to write something about what they liked the most in first grade. I helped some students when they asked me how to spell some words. After that it was lunch time. I ate together with Gisele and we ate a very tasty Pizza and a choclate chip cookie. It was raining but the class still had recess outside. Unfortunately I had to go outside as well. After recess I helped miss Peruca with hanging all art creations in the school. It was quite some work because we had to make sure that everyone's art creation was displayed somewhere, so she was very happy with my help. When we were done with it I went back to Giseles class again and celebrated a girl's bday. When school was over Dale picked me and the girls up and we went home.

That evening Matt Chelsea and Izzy were coming over to eat together. Together with the girls I played some game on the Xbox and watched some tv with the rest of the family. I even song the Dutch song to Izzy as well.
